A-Toll Scritti - 1/100 Resin Kit
The A-Toll Scritti was started on Stream mid September 2021. Finished in about a month around the 23rd of October. I really enjoyed building the Scritti. The pining and parts fit was ok-ish'; there were a few tricky considerations. One of the things I adore about the Scritti is the very unique style of head. This is literally the mono-eye Mortar Headd! Around 200-220 parts if I had to guess.
After cleaning, prep and pining, the entire kit was primed in pink. The mix I used was Mr. Surfacer 1500 white mixed with Mr Color Character Red in a 15:1 ratio. Pink is an excellent foundation colour for yellow which is a notoriously fussy colour to use. Yellow pigments are almost never opaque, and as such the base colour used under a yellow will play an enormous roll in the overall hue/saturation/tint of the yellow. I wanted a rich yellow, and the pink primer gave me just that. The yellow paint used is Mr Colour #4 Yellow. The metals are Tamiya XF-56 Metalic Grey; this also went on over the pink primer. Panel lines are Tamiya Black Enamel Panel Liner. The hands, hilts and eye lens are Alclad Candy Electric Blue. The emblems on the Veils (Shields) are done with a reverse wash. I painted the emblems in Alclad Pale Gold, I then clear coated them with Mr Super Clear UV Cut Gloss. Then I sprayed Tamiya XF-85 Rubber Black Enamel over the clear coated gold. Once dry, the elevated ridges of the emblem could be delicately wiped with a cotton swab loaded with Naphtha (lighter fluid) to remove the black and expose the gold.
I am at the time of writing waiting on a nice base to arrive for the Scritti. Until then I have him in a 3D Printed base. I hope you like the Scritti. It’s certainly one of the more unique Mortar Headd designs from Mamoru Nagano.

The A-toll Scritti is a mortar headd designed for information gathering and covert operations. It is equipped with the latest in reconnaissance technology to aid the fatima co-pilot in obtaining vital information for use against the enemy. A flat head keeps its height down a bit and accommodates an all-directional scanner. Side armor scales incorporate a variety of built-in combat equipment. Shoulders can be dislocated and folded forward for transport. Mortar headds can walk on the balls of their feet, so the heel isn’t strictly necessary and pressure on the ground still isn’t that bad. Maggy Colter’s Scritti work demonstrated higher agility without heels, and now Amaterasu is testing it on Cross and Rouge Mirages.
There are only six A-Toll Scrittis among Hathuha’s fleet of A-Tolls, thus they are rarely seen or used. In 2997, three A-Toll Scrittis were scrambled to retrieve rogue AP Knight Wandam Harrer of Embryo squadron.
A-Toll information: There are 13 armor variants. Each of the 12 regionally stationed squads has a variant plus A-Toll Silver for the imperial guard. Sparse and Skein squads are both stationed by the capital. The BS-type used by Sparse squad is one of the "big three" MHs of the cluster. Scritti type is particularly distinctive but Scritti Polity squad goes generally unpublicized because it specializes in covert ops. [Cross referencing with the Magic War troop positioning in Designs 3 indicates that squads 1-10 are on the ground, 11 is in space, and Scritti squad is unnumbered.]
